Festival Highlights

Roscommon Lamb Festival takes place May Bank Holiday from Wednesday April 29th - Monday May 4th, 2020.

The Lamb Festival has something for all the family.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you together with family and friends to the 2020 Roscommon Lamb Festival. This is our 13th annual festival and as always we have a wide and varied list of events lined up for your entertainment. The Festival kicks off on Wednesday the 29th of April with a Show and Sale of lambs at Roscommon Mart followed later on that evening by a Thanksgiving for the Flocks of the Fields in St Coman’s Church of Ireland. The ever popular Roscommon Lamb BBQ takes place in the Festival marquee in the town square on Saturday the 2nd of May and the much anticipated Family Fun Day in Loughnaneane Park happens on Sunday the 3rd of May. Both of these events take on a life of their own that will leave you wanting for more of the same again next year. The month of May marks a time in the sheep farmer’s calendar when the hard struggle of late nights and early mornings are replaced by happy faces and bountiful fields of playful lambs. Considering the importance sheep farming means to this region, it’s little wonder that all things wool and farming take centre stage in our festival.
