Golfing Competitions

10am: Roscommon Golf Club

Wool Merchants Cup and 9 Hole Ladies' Golf competitions This competition has been run at Roscommon Golf Club since 1943. The sterling silver cup was presented to the club by a local wool merchant at that time and bears the inscription;

“Come all Roscommon divotees and polish up your sticks.
To commemorate the famous days when wool fetched three and six.
There is only one condition when entering for this match,
That certain well known wool gatherers will have to play off scratch"

Roscommon Lamb Festival

10am - 6pm: Lamb Festival Marquee, The Square

The Lamb Festival marquee will host handcraft demonstrations and workshops, along with spinners, weavers and knitters from Roscommon and other places in Ireland. Other hand craft demomstrations will include tinsmith, woodwork, basket-making, blacksmithing and more.

Farmers' Market: A Taste of Roscommon

10am - 6p: Craft Marquee, Market Square

Craft tent situated at the front of the Bank of Ireland is reserved for crafters from Co. Roscommon who are in business producing high quality craftwork of different kinds.

1pm - 4pm: Loughnaneane Park

A chance to wear your club colours and cheer on your local Master Shearer at the battle of the Roscommon GAA Club Shearers.

A great day out with something for all the family! This year's Family Fun Day is bigger and better than ever with children’s amusements, FAI soccer skills competition, pet lambs, Bo Peep/Boy Blue Competitions, food stalls, sheep racing, live music, craft demos, rare breeds, Big Blue Bus, Welly throwing, Capoeira in the Castle (Afro Brazilian martial art), Castle tour, Mid Roscommon Vintage Club and much more!

2pm: Roscommon Arts Centre

Artists tour and talk. This exhibition of woven tapestries is a collaboration between Irish and Scottish artists. The exhibition runs as a biennial event with invited artists. Scottish artists: Joan Baxter, John Brennan, Elizabeth Radcliffe, Clare Coyle. Irish artists: Frances Crowe Fibre Artist, Terry Dunne, Angela Forte, Mary Cuthbert.

In-depth guided tour of the exhibition by Joan Baxter and Frances Crowe. Giving insights into what motivates each artist, their way of working and characteristic techniques. Discussion about how and why these exhibitions came about. Gallery space
